Transmission Mode of DC Motor

2022-09-19

When the DC motor is used as the driving force to drive the production machinery to run, the connection method that transfers the electrical energy of the DC motor to the production machinery and becomes mechanical energy is called transmission.

The transmission mode between the DC motor and the machine is: ①, back wheel direct drive; ②, belt drive; ③, gear drive; ④, worm drive; ⑤, chain drive; ⑥, friction wheel drive

There are two transmission modes in the production of DC motors:

1. Direct transmission is a transmission method in which the DC motor and the coupling for production machinery are directly connected, often called a coupling or a backrest wheel. Its advantages are high transmission efficiency and simple and reliable equipment. For example, the water pump unit, the DC motor and the water pump have been directly connected and installed on a base in the water pump factory to become a complete set of equipment. Obviously, the speed and direction of rotation of the DC motor and the production machinery must be the same. Therefore, when the speed of the DC motor is the same as that of the production machinery, the direct transmission method should be used as much as possible.

2. Indirect drive When the speed of the DC motor is different from the speed of the production machinery, it is necessary to adopt the method of changing the speed (referred to as variable speed) to solve it. At this time, indirect drive is usually used. Indirect transmission is divided into belt transmission, referred to as belt transmission and gear transmission. The characteristic of indirect transmission is that the rotation speed of the DC motor is different from that of the production machinery, and their rotation directions can be the same or different.

Generally speaking, the DC motor gear drive is more expensive and difficult to manufacture than the belt drive, while the belt drive is easier to implement. The belt drive has the advantages of simple structure and convenient disassembly and assembly, but the structure is not compact enough, and some slip (commonly known as lost rotation). ) and other disadvantages. Belt drive is divided into two types: flat belt and V-belt drive.
